Wine, palaces and shanty towns

For all of those who had ever been at church and drunk the wine and ever wonder what it would be like to sink
a whole bottle of church wine.   Or is it just me?
not a bad drop if i say so myself.
Just for the record this is real church wine, i found it in a shop of a real old church.   (No Dave, i did not steal it )
750mL, 15.6% alcohol,  for only 11 soles or 4 Ozzie dollars.

Maddie next to a riot police at the front of the  "Palacio de Govierno" also the residence of Peru's president in Lima city.
She was a little scared and why not. If you look at his battered shield you'll think so too.

The presidential palace from a different angle.
The Palace was build in 1937 in Baroque style.
There is a changing of the guard every day at noon which is a kind of formal ceremony
carried out by the Husares de Junin (the name of the regiment of soldiers that fought the battles for independence against the spanish royalist  about 200 years ago )
I will get some pictures of the Husares de Junin  next time.

Louise and I sitting in front of the Cathedral .
This church is on the same plot of land that Pizarro (founder  of Lima) designated for the city's first church in 1535.

The Archbishop's Palace of Lima.
It's located next to the Cathedral  and showing some of the most amazing
Moorish-style balconies

A closer look of the wooden build balconies

A view from our apartment

Madeline and I in the apartment . She is giving me computer lessons.
,
Shanty town on the outskirts of Lima.
Can you imagine living at the top and one day you wake up get ready to go to work.
make you way down only to find out you forgot your wallet.

We are still having a good time!
