Finally made it to beach.

Almost out of control.

Huanchaco
These reed watercrafts have been used by indigenous Peruvians for about 3000 years for fishing.
And they still use them.

Believe it or not this is an illegal petrol station near the border with Ecuador.
And the taxi dude was talking on the phone whilst getting fill.
The story behind is that people smuggle fuel from Ecuador at nearly half the price to the local
fuel so you won't find a proper petrol station for nearly 20 kms

We made it to the beaches of Zorritos.
The locals are very friendly people.

Madeline could not get off the beach.

Lobster for lunch.
You can buy live lobster for 40 soles a kilo or 15 dollars

Hitching a ride to go fishing with a few of the locals.
They are very good fisherman.

For the first time in months we all have room enough to swing a cat.

...... and stick things to the wall.

Caught this big bastard in my boardies.

Beach or no beach, school goes on.

This guy was walking along the beach selling Chifley (thin strips of banana deep fried in oil) Yummy.

This photo is Zorritos.
Zorritos is a fishing village but it's also the first place in South America to have an oil well .
Have a look in the background.

Among all the fishing trawlers only one or two get lucky.
This one got five tons of it.

No winchers or 4 wheel drives to help these guys. It is all manual labour
And it all gets carried by hand

Straight into the freezer trucks.

All set to party.

Not even this little bugger was going to spoil it for me.

Getting to know the locals.

full cut.

Even Louise was playing some tunes.

The locals hard at work.
